Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous oil painting of the ‘Lady With an Ermine’ or Cecilia Gallerani

Created by famed Italian artist Leonardo Da Vinci who was of service to the Duke of Milan.  The Duke commissioned an oil painting of Cecilia Gallerani, who was the mistress of the Duke of Milan.  Cecilia bore the Duke a son,  but he chose to marry another woman from a nobler family.

Lady With an Ermine is on public display at the Wawel Castle, Kraków,  original measures 54 cm × 39 cm (21 in × 15 in),  painted around 1489-90.
