Vincent Van Gogh’s famous oil painting of the ‘Asylum & Garden’  Also known as the Garden of the Asylum, Asylum Garden or The Garden of Saint-Paul Hospital at St. Rémy.  May 1889.

From May 1889 until May 1890, Van Gogh was a self-admitted patient at the Saint-Paul asylum since renamed the Clinique Van Gogh.  During much of his stay here he made paintings of the gardens, the nearby wheat fields, his room and a few other oil portraits which caught his imagination.
